چکیده
The class NP captures the difficulty of finding certificates. However, in many contexts, one is interested not just in a single certificate, but actually counting the number of certificates. In this manuscript we look at a famous result involving #P, (pronounced “sharp p”), a complexity class that captures this notion. Counting problems arise in diverse fields, often in situations having to do with estimations of probability. Examples include statistical estimation, statistical physics, network design, and more. Counting problems are also studied in a field of mathematics called enumerative combinatorics, which tries to obtain closedform mathematical expressions for counting problems. To give an example, in the 19th century Kirchoff showed how to count the number of spanning trees in a graph using a simple determinant computation.

Reduction of Computational Complexity in Finite State Automata Explosion of Networked System Diagnosis (RESEARCH NOTE)
This research puts forward rough finite state automata which have been represented by two variants of BDD called ROBDD and ZBDD. The proposed structures have been used in networked system diagnosis and can overcome cominatorial explosion. In implementation the CUDD - Colorado University Decision Diagrams package is used. A mathematical proof for claimed complexity are provided which shows ZBDD ...
متن کاملSize-dependent thermoelastic analysis of rotating nanodisks of variable thickness
This paper contains a strain gradient theory to capture size effects in rotating nanodisks of variable thickness under thermal and mechanical loading. Material properties of nanodisks have been taken homogeneous material. The strain gradient theory and the Hamilton’s principle are employed to derive the governing equations. Due to complexity of the governing differential equation and boundary c...
متن کاملChaos/Complexity Theory and Education
Sciences exist to demonstrate the fundamental order underlying nature. Chaos/complexity theory is a novel and amazing field of scientific inquiry. Notions of our everyday experiences are somehow in connection to the laws of nature through chaos/complexity theory’s concerns with the relationships between simplicity and complexity, between orderliness and randomness (Retrieved from http://www.inc...
متن کاملOn the computational complexity of finding a minimal basis for the guess and determine attack
Guess-and-determine attack is one of the general attacks on stream ciphers. It is a common cryptanalysis tool for evaluating security of stream ciphers. The effectiveness of this attack is based on the number of unknown bits which will be guessed by the attacker to break the cryptosystem. In this work, we present a relation between the minimum numbers of the guessed bits and uniquely restricted...
متن کاملBiclique Cryptanalysis of Block Ciphers LBlock and TWINE-80 with Practical Data Complexity
In the biclique attack, a shorter biclique usually results in less data complexity, but at the expense of more computational complexity. The early abort technique can be used in partial matching part of the biclique attack in order to slightly reduce the computations. In this paper, we make use of this technique, but instead of slight improvement in the computational complexity, we keep the amo...
